RubberizeIt! Coating Review
Exactly what it sounds like. Rubber!
The name gives it away. It?s rubber. It?s also a water based 100% solids no VOC protective coating.
This product seems to show a lot of promise based on the information that?s found on the website and in some forums like koi-bito, koiphen, etc. There are some excellent reviews on this product that are promoted by people closely related to it.
However, upon close investigation it seems that the application process is not so consistent if not using the optional spray system. This increases the price tag quite a bit and makes it not so simple for the DIY consumer.

Advises against this product for long term waterproofing
Summary
Though this product sounds like the ultimate product for waterproofing for just about anything, it seems there are enough nuances to make it “not so easy” to use. Not to say that it doesn’t work. There is obviously a steep learning curve if this product does work for long term protection. This appears to be a product that is good for many uses, but perhaps not cement pond waterproofing.
Rubberizeit! was the worst pond lining ever. It leaked through itself wherever there are corners or flow from cascade. Polyurea applicators via SPI and Carboline worked but these professionals that are over $14 per sq ft. On our 3rd Koi pond we planned this as our big breeding area; 3,800 gallons, under part shade approx 21 ft diameter from almost 0 walk in “beach” zone up to a 5 foot depth. I’m posting here because I know Dr. David Pitkethly, Seattle Wa. http://www.healthgrades.com/physician/dr-david-pitkethly-222vx … he was recommended by Kevin Root, Spray-Lining Coatings distributor of zone 2. I met Kevin and the Dr. at the Midwest Pond and Koi Society show last June.
Rubberizeit is not a good company. I have worked for them and would NEVER buy from them. I can’t say if the product works but, I’ve seen many, many complaints via email.
Rubberizeit! is a pond lining SCAM! I spent over $4000 + time + effort and it never sealed anything. I read here the truth: rubber can only work if it were EPDM coated with Polyurea. SLC Seal Tite fixed leaks for $1700. DuPont sells same Polyurea as Seal Tite for even less money but in minimums of 6 X 55 gallon drum sets.
